Default Golf cart insurance cost?

Hello:

We just moved to the Villages in late May. We have U.S.A.A. insurance for everything.

We bought a brand new ($14K) Yamaha gas golf cart. The insurance quote we got, with $1K deductible was just under $600 for a year.

Casual conversations with neighbors suggested they pay much less?

Does this amount seem reasonable?

Thanks in advance for any input.

We pay $60 annually for golf cart insurance NOT USAA.
I have tried USAA for quotes several times not even competitive with other options no accidents/claims and credit score 840. Glenn Vann Insurance leesburg golf cart, Auto thru AARP Hartford

OP, did you insure as a GOLF cart or as a STREET Legal golf cart, BIG difference. We have progressive, around $71, bundled, also on a similar priced golf cart.

The Village Ins has us with Foremost as well. We have full coverage on one since we have a loan. I think we are at $370 a year total.

Like all insurance it depends mostly on your coverage with of course some variation between companies but $600 is INSANE unless it is street legal (with plates and reg).

When my "cart" was STREET LEGAL aka LSV it was close to $800 with FULL COVERAGE.
Now that it is no longer street legal it's around $100 because I have highest liability plus collision plus comp. Would have been around $60 bare bones.

With which company? I don’t want street legal myself either.

I originally used Foremost from Villages Ins for ~$65, then went LSV from some Florida Insurance comapny who was the only one that would insure my LSV through V.I., currently on Allstate (just for GC) because I had a fight with Villages Insurance when I decommissioned it back to a GC. Did it online with Allstate for $98 but could have got it down to around $65 bare bones (this was about 10 months ago). Auto insurance is with Geico who was WAY WAY cheaper than any of the other ones I got quoted from from anywhere from $300 to $1200 less (no accidents 8+ years, high credit score etc).

Just curious, why not have it as an attachment to existing home owner insurance policy? What is the down-side?

I have found USAA to be overpriced on everything. I pay about 75 per year.
