Please forgive me if this has been addressed - this is my first post, so do be kind. We plan to purchase a golf cart when we move to The Villages in the very near future. Whenever a post about an air conditioned cart is mentioned, it always appears to be as an addition to an ELECTRIC cart. Are we missing something, or is there an option for air conditioning with gas carts?
Thank you in advance. |

No, you are not missing anything. Some have nice dual fan systems in their cart that keep the August air moving. They are very happy with them.

You don't need A/C in a Golf Cart unless you plan to make it street-legal or you need it for health reasons.
Gas Golf Carts don't have an alternator like a car so it's not really possible as there is no constant energy running the A/C |

I have owned this Elite for over four years. It's the same as the Crown that is sold behind Russell Stover on 44 . While it is airconditioned, I very seldom turn it on as the cart has good vents and I installed insulation under the roof which helps a great deal to keep things cool on a hot summers day. It's electric and I get around 45 to 60 miles on a overnight charge.
P.S. It also has a heater for winter which I rarely use as I can seal it tight with no air leaks. I use it as a people move and not for playing golf. |
