Free Local TV (Locast.org)
Starting yesterday LOCAST.ORG became available in our area. They just added Orlando to their geographical area which also includes us. What this means for us is we now can get all the over-the-air antenna channels Orlando gets for free. You'll need internet access to stream the channels. There's 71 channels including ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. You can watch this on your phones and other devices, just download the LOCAST app. No personal information is needed, only email and create a password. If you have a Roku you can watch it there too. There's an extra step for the Roku, just follow the instructions from your LOCAST app on your Roku to activate it. I have an antenna in my attic and this has worked pretty well for the most part but I never could get NBC and some of the other channels would fade from time to time. LOCAST should solve this but keep in mind with extra streaming comes more bandwidth usage so you should monitor your usage from time to time so your internet provider doesn't ding you for going over. LOCAST does take donations but you are not required to donate. Depending on what you watch you may not need cable tv, hulu live, sling, or youtube live. Either way this may help you reduce some of your paid tv subscriptions.
