I so enjoy seeing all the beautiful flowers with all the colors… Much better than the frozen gray Midwest!

What is so sad? Your comment confuses me. Why should I watch myself? That comment confuses me also.

Yes, I know I forgot the "A" when I made that post. Silly me. Sorry for the error.

The immediacy of how attractive this place is sort of wears off after awhile, but when we first moved here we were entranced with just how beautiful everything is. Flowers--yes. TV does a great job with that: I was especially impressed with how fast the flowers were replaced after the couple of hard freezes this past winter, though in fairness it was probably about time to replace them anyway. But how many other places do you know where they mow and water the ditches? A previous poster had it right. This place is a showcase. My sister-in-law visits for a week every April to play golf, and her comment was "this place is like living in a resort!" But it is more than just flowers and ditches. Pride of ownership here is a biggie. Of course there are exceptions but overall the homeowners here seem to take their responsibilities regarding the upkeep of their property seriously. The ones that don't, stand out, because the vast majority do. Another thing I'm impressed with is the wildlife; not just how plentiful it is but how they seem to accept people. They're not threatened here and it shows. Going eyeball to eyeball with an egret or a sandhill crane from three feet away is fascinating. On the not-so-bright side there is a rabbit hanging around that enjoys munching on stuff on my patio. Went out there the other day and more or less caught him in the act. He looked up, saw me and went right back to eating. I'm thinking of live-trapping him and relocating him somewhere else, but he only bothers a couple of plants. Besides my cat and the rabbit enjoy staring at each other through the patio doors. |

One spot I just love to look at every time I pass it is the picnic area on the east side of Morse Blvd. as you are heading north on Morse Blvd, just before 466. This spot is just outside of Mission Villas. There is actually a few parking spots for golf carts. Hubby and I enjoy having picnics there in the cooler months. The area is nestled under huge Live Oak trees and is just beautiful and serene.
