Default Fabulous Blueberry Picking Close to the Villages

There is easy , heavenly , fun blueberry picking close to the Villages. This is one of several I'm sure. At the farm where I went, the bushes are tall in rows, so you just walk down the rows and wiggle the branches so the ripe blueberries drop in your cupped hand. $3.50 for 16 oz. or a pound and is a pretty good deal.
I just wanted to share the fun.

Looks like I've missed out on muffins this morning. When should I be over for pie?

I'm waiting for blueberries to go on sale at Aldi's. I shopped there today and bought some blackberries.

Today I tried Sugar Hill; it was disappointing, except for the nifty harness they provide. The person that was manning the booth did not have any knowledge of what varieties might be planted. The plants were totally overgrown with weeds. Thorny vines as long as 6 ft were everywhere, the roots of the berry plants were covered in weeds. The berries themselves were sparse, seldom found any clumps like normal.
I spent an hour and a half, got about 5 lbs.

Then I went up the road another mile or two, and found Abshier Farms, which was a far superior experience. Their plants are well maintained, virtually weed free. The picking was much closer to what I've experienced before, with many clumps of berries. They have several varieties to choose from, but I only learned that after I was done for the day. In the same amount of time, I was able to pick three times as much.
I recommend paying the extra 50 cents a pound, go to Abshier Farms 3960 SE 115th Belleview

p.s. I called Heather Oaks, and they were not picking today, maybe in a day or two. My favorite so far is in Center Hill, but they did not have a crop this year, the birds and the weather did them in.
