Smile Experience with moving Pods

Hi we are moving to the villages in September from New Jersey and would like to use the moving pods . Does anyone have any experience and can you hire someone to move the contents once in the Villages ?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Eva

Used PODS from RI to Villages in 2011. No problem with them. Hired Village Movers to unpack and move into Garage and House. they did a good job and very quickly. We unpacked boxes and etc. No problem with them either.

Same with us. We used SAMS which is the same thing, a different moving company...but be sure you hire the right one. There are two franchises for PODS here. One is from Ocala and the other Orlando. If you get the Ocala one and live south of 466 they charge you extra to deliver and vice versa because they cross lines into another franchise territory..

Our SAM was there on closing day, the movers arrived on time and all went smoothly. We had stored our stuff in it for three months....and THAT was the expensive part.

Used A pod from 1-800 Pack Rat. I was extremely pleased with whole process. No hidden costs. The pod was delivered on time, stored in their facility in Orlando until I wanted it delivered. They were the only company that was willing to deliver a POD to the end of Cape Cod. If needed, I would not hesitate to use them again.

We loaded in PA and through pack rat we hired a third party to unload in The Villages. The co-ordination in Orlando went smoothly. Excellent experience.

We used a POD to move here from Ohio. We were concerned because we have a sloped driveway. It was a non-issue after all. I did note that after they left there were quite a few black tire marks in the driveway from their equipment. After about a month the rain washed them away. We were very pleased with the service. If you have a painted or paver driveway it might be an issue, ours was a plain driveway.

I used ABF moving pods from NewYork to the villages -- everything arrived perfect -- however, I did have the pods professionally packed to maintain everything tightly packed in there and nothing moved -- they seemed to be the most cost effective and I would use them again -- unpacked ourselves when here

We used ABF when we moved to TV from PA in 2011. We had Village Movers unload them.

We used a POD when we moved down from Long Island. We loaded the POD in NY but through POD got names of people who unpack. We called them and two guys arrived to unload. They placed boxes where we asked and moved furniture to the spaces we asked as well. Great experience. I think it cost us $250 or so to have it unpacked (this was two years ago)

Pods is the only way to move.. I will never do it any other way again. I have used them twice, including storing once for 6 months. Perfect. Be careful, PODS pick up straight up and down - some of the imitations (UNITS, etc) slant when they pick up and everything shifts. I used units on a 3rd move and was not as happy (although it was fine).
Had a lot less damage either way than with a mover.

We used 800-Pack-Rat for our move from MA. They were great to work with and everything arrived on time and in perfect condition. We hired Village movers to unload for us.
