You also asked about concrete countertops. I have helped a friend of mine do them. I really liked it and might do it in our next kitchen.

I enjoyed the project.......but I'm kind of a unique do it yourselfer. I designed and built my own house up north and am extensively remodeling my home down here. They now have lighter concrete mixes, special dyes, etc.

I do not see many Villagers doing this on their own. To hire it done I would guess the labor cost would be high. That might be one reason you do not see many concrete countertops in The Villages.
