I have 6 Kobalt battery operated tools 4 batteries. 3 chargers. I had 2 of the batteries go bad (would not charge), so took the batteries to Lowe's they were still under warranty. Had the receipt for the tool I purchased with the battery. I had to come home and get the tool for a complete swap. All I wanted was the battery. Got new tool with battery. I like the Kobalt tools but the Ego Lawnmower was rated better, so I got that. Does a great job 2 cuts before recharge, New battery for Ego 5 Ah + $269. It comes with a 10 Ah. I like not having to store gas in my garage.

We had a battery powered Ryobi self propelled push mower. It did an awesome job and we also have a Ryobi battery powered leaf blower & hedge trimmer’s that used same size battery. The work awesome as well.

Playing into the hands of the Green Deal! Another reason not to produce oil!

Have used electric for over 20 years. Started with the original Homelite. Then Ryobi. Then Ego. Just bought the new Ryobi self propelled and would not ever go back to gas. Easier to store with a fraction of maintenance. Really depends on the yard and contour, but would put up against any gas in its class all day and twice on Tuesday.

Our Kolbalt self propelled mower has been amazing. I would highly recommend it. It is over 5 years old with no issues at all.

Default Electric Lawnmower

I’am enjoying my electric lawnmower, trimmers and blower. Been using them for two years and are still going strong.

either way works for me

As much as I prefer an internal combustion engine, electric mowers, trimmers, and blowers are a good option for postage stamp lots like those in the Villages. If we were full timers I would invest a years worth of what I pay our lawn guy and get the stuff so I could do it myself. Up north, where I have to care for multiple acres of land, I will stick with the diesel tractor and gas zero turn mower, push mower, backpack leaf blower, weed wicker, and chain saws. Both options are appropriate depending on the landowners needs.

I have a corner lot and use Ryobi battery gear. It cuts as fast as I can push it. I'm 6' tall and I can push the mower at my pace and it doesn't bog down. I'll not sure I agree with your idea that it takes twice as long.

I've owned a Kubota tractor, Scag commercial mower, Stihl blower, and Echo trimmers. They are all fine and preferred back home, here, no way I need any of it. I don't need the garage gas smells, the oil changes, or the commercial torque for tiny Villages lawns.

I also like Chevy over Ford, Xbox over Playstation, and Buccaneers over Patriots, I guess I'm now a battery fanboy as well. You sound like a gas fanboy.

Fanboy gonna be, like, mine is better.

Me, I'm like -- use whatever you like, they are all basically the same.

Ego is the premier battery mower system. Nothing else compares.

If you’re using a battery mower because
you have a bad shoulder, and can’t pull a gas mower’s start string
You don’t want to store gas in your garage
You have a small yard, and 2 batteries are enough to get the yard done

Then do it - any other reason doesn’t make much sense.

Hardly any two stroke engine now. I have seen yard in villages than electric mower wouldn’t work in. They work fine as long as you don’t let grass get over grown. Not supposed take off more than 1/3 of grass anyway.
