Is there a "no soliciting" policy in The Villages? We just had someone ring the bell and try to sell us something. Who would I report this to?

i'm not sure who to report it to, but we get them on occasion. usually it's a water treatment guy looking for customers with some silly water test

We get this periodically and say no thank you and close the door.

Maybe Community Watch. However, I remember reading they won't do anything about it, and "no soliciting" really just gets lip service. Solicitors often say they are already working in the neighborhood and this gives them an okay to bother you.

Water treatment, landscaping, roofing, pressure washing, and more. They are a pain in the arse! Good luck. Thought about painting a body outline by my front door with a sign saying it is the last solicitor that rang my doorbell.

Some areas have "no soliciting" signs at the entrance gates, but most roads are county roads and soliciting rules cannot be enforced. I would suggest placing a "no soliciting" sign on your front door.

Had to get a ring. Power washers, tree trimmers, people selling meat and fish was too much. Solicitor is not entitled to come on your property if notice is given

There was a law about roofing door to door solicitation, but that got struck down by the courts. Since the streets are public they can still do it, but the villa streets are private and would be worth a call to CW to find out.

Had a sign on farm gate many years ago which read.
