Ebay works too. I sold a bathtub on ebay a few years ago. Said local pick up only.

Go to Craigslist and suggest a community. The Villages.
If enough people request, they will add it to the list. We did this in St. Aug.

Right now there are many listings in the "Ocala" area from Villagers.

Default Craigslist

Just email Craigslist and request it....if enough people do it then maybe they might add a Villages section....

Honestly, I'd be hesitant to have a craigslist for TV, given what I've seen of the Ocala craigslist. It really is nothing like the craigslist I was used to in California -- too many scams, too many bad links to porn sites, too many ads that just feel wrong. You place an ad and the odds are you'll get 50-100 responses, 2-5 of which are legitimate.

I recently sold a laptop on Craigs List. I just listed it in Ocala, identified my location as TV and said cash only, local pickup only. Got 2 responses one of which resulted in a sale.

Craigs list works well, but redwitch is right, you need to be very careful of scams and porn. I use it to find lots of stuff and the Ocala one works just fine.

The Ocala Craigslist is nothing like the Ft. Myers/Naples Craigslist, but I still watch it. There are some very nice items there.

When I list on Craigslist, I don't post a phone number, just let the buyer send an email through Craigslist's system. I may get a spam, but I just junk it. I have good luck with the site.

If we can't get a site for TheVillages, maybe we could get a "sub site" within Ocala listings. See Ft. Myers for what I mean.

And then there's the "Craig's List killer" case that happened in the Boston area. If I were single/lived alone I would be concerned about strangers coming to my door. Just a thought...

I have had excellent results selling things on ocala4sale. It's free. I might suggest noting in your ad that you are located in The Villages. I had lots of inquiries from people who lived north of Ocala who felt The Villages was too far to travel.
