We're getting ready to fill a new pool and I'm wondering if there is current information about how much it costs to fill an average sized pool with a garden hose? Should I inform the water company before the process begins?

I had to provide a work order from the company that resurfaced the pool to prove the work was actually done. It might be worthwhile to double check.

Unless policy has changed from two years ago, I was charged the sewer rate.
I called and that is what I was told.

We filled our new pool (10-12' W x 22-24" long) in April. It increased my bill by around $80 including the increase in sewer. We live in Sumter Co.

According to the salesman at T&D and All Seasons, (salesman so questionable at best), call the water company they will read the meter and adj for no sewer charge when filling. So cost is only about $35 to $40.

I thought the hose water was non-potable water, is it safe to swim in? Don't you all find this kind of gross?

The hose water is "potable" water and on the same system as your interior house water. When you shut off your main water line in the garage it shuts off the hose bibs also. The reclaimed water is only utilized for irrigation.

If I have a pool or hot tub is there a re-filling discount on my water and sewer charges? Each homeowner is responsible for paying for all water consumption that passes through the meter. Discounts are not offered on filling or refilling pools or hot tubs.
