After the 25,000 gal timeline when they recommended installing new filters, has anyone changed the filters themselves?

Like yourself and many others, I also have a NOVA water filter system (three blue tubes) and the filters do need to be changed yearly. I researched the cost of purchasing the three water filters, tool to remove the filters and gasket replacement online (Amazon) and the cost for parts was about $104.00. I believe Nova charges about $138.00 to change the filters. Not sure about you, but the extra $34 bucks wasn't going to break me, so I will call Nova each year to replace my filters. BTW - If you do it yourself and break the plastic water lines leading into the water filters, your going to regret the do it yourself job. Be Safe.

We had Nova system for 6 years at single family house and had Nova installed when we bought our villa close to 2 years ago. I have always changed my own filters after the initial Nova install. I highly recommend NOVA. I also use the filter in my refrigerator, but I think it is probably overkill. Once the filters are installed or replaced you need to run several gallons of water through the system prior to drinking. Ok for anything else.

The 3 filter set is $85 and the service call for the the filter change is a $40 So a total of $125 plus tax we let the young guys do it. These filters are heavy and need to be resealed and flushed out correctly.
You can order them through the website and pick them up at the warehouse in Wildwood or we can drop them off for a small delivery fee. Click the link below Nova Filters | The Villages Fl Or call 352.566.2649 Thanks Bob &Brad Last edited by Brad-tv; 04-26-2021 at 03:46 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Also we recommend to change your filters every 26,000 of home water use or annually whichever comes first.
Depending on where you live your water bill should have a chart reflecting your monthly and annual use potable not irrigation. Most homes north of 466 have one water bill with potable and irrigation combined so they change them annually or add a water meter for accuracy. Snowbirds change the filters every new season to have a fresh set. |

Don’t recommend using a 5 micron as your first filter. Stepping down from a high micron 20 then to a 10micron and a 5 micron carbon is best Having all 5 microns may work in some areas with low sediment but a majority of the villages have high sediment levels and a 5 micron will clog up fast and reduce your pressure . |

I have the Nova system and love it. I called them about a year ago and had them change the filters.
What I'm a bit disappointed about is that I was originally told that I would get an email from them notifying me that it was time to change the filters. I never received any notice. My filters hadn't been changed in about 4 years. I'm also disappointed that they didn't put a sticker on the tubes with the date they were changed. I suppose I should have done that myself but I didn't think of it at the time. Their service was great when he arrived and I like the system. I just think that communication could be a bit better and that they should do what they said they would.

Just curious, question. You stated your filters were not changed in four years of regular use? Did you notice any diminished quality of water ? I wonder if I can wait maybe two years vs the recommended one year as I use one of my village homes part time ? If you can go four years without a change??? Just wondering... |

Sorry We currently do not have a program to email people in advance . Also the technician should have applied a sticker on the unit when he changed the filters. We recommend to put a reminder on your calendar . We are currently trying to find a system to offer that service. Thanks Bob & Brad |
