My house, like most in the Villages, comes with the Ecobee thermostat. I turned off my system, and it's confirmed with the message "no equipment running'. But the fan is still running. When i went to the fan setting, it only has an 'on' and 'auto' setting, no 'off'. In the 'auto' setting, you can set minimum run time. I set mine to '0 minutes/hour' which is the lowest setting possible. But my fan keeps running. What do i need to do to turn the fan off?
I followed the instructions here but it did not help: how to turn off fan with ecobee thermostat - Search Videos |

I suggest that you verify that the smart recovery setting is disabled for both heating and cooling. Also, turn off the circuit breaker and then turn it back on.
On the thermostat: Select Main Menu > Settings > Preferences Select Heating Smart Recovery or Cooling Smart Recovery. Touch Enable or Disable. |

Yes, Turn the Circuit Breaker off ! If the fan is still running after the breaker is on , it may be your Thermostat…

Has happen to us plus 3 others we know. In one case the fan wouldn’t come on, rest of us fan would run constant. We all have Carrier units.
The components that control the fan are located in the fan motor end cap. The individual parts cannot be replaced. The entire fan end cap must be replaced. Probably still under mfg warranty? Labor is your cost unless you have a service contract. Your cost about $150 range for labor. We used Munns. |

I found the Ecobee much better than those Carrier thermostats that they put in North of 44.

I’ve had one for four years. Not one issue or problem

My new carrier comfort unit has dumb Honeywell thermostat. I don’t like my stuff to be smarter than me.

Nope. Four years is a good run for not one single issue. But like anything else, something can always go wrong.

I agree with that! It's got to be the most complicated household appliance I've ever seen!

I then turned off the circuit breakers. There are 2: one is labeled A/C, the other A/H. When I turned off the A/C breaker, fan kept running. When I turned off the A/H breaker, the fan went off. Fan came back on when I turned on the A/H breaker again. |
