Urgent message!!!!!! Due to cancelled farmers markets, we are having our very own here at our farm this Saturday and every Saturday until they reopen. Over 20 vendors have agreed to come and set up there tents. That being said we will have fresh fish, salsa, guacamole, fudge, bread, baked goods, home made cheese, goat milk, fish dips, and plants. So many of your favorite Brownwood vendors will be here. This is so many small business that are dependent on a the market. So from 9-3 we will be here. Support local folks!! We will all be practicing our very best sanitation measures, always.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose to move it to another location? Just asking.

So instead of catching the virus at Brownwood, you could go catch it at Bountiful Farms.

These people do not have a choice. Their items will go bad and they will lose their income. You get your veggies from publix right? What is the difference?

The difference between having it at their farm and having it at a town square is pretty big. At the town square, there are more than 20 tents, fairly cramped together in a relatively small area of square footage, surrounded by buildings.

At a farm, the 20+ tents are spread out over as much land as the farmer wants to section off, and it's surrounded by open air so there's less crowding.

Makes sense to me. Out in the open air is far better than being indoors. And spread out on an open air farm is far better than cramping every vendor together like they do at Brownwood. These farmer vendors do need to sell their produce or it goes to the compost heap. We need to take precautions, but we also can be a little bit sensible too, IMHO.
