We went to see “A man called Otto” at Old Mill yesterday. The theater was about 85%-90% filled - not bad for a 4:45 movie that has already played for several days. We payed $17.00 for our tickets and $15.00 and change for the popcorn and cokes that took almost 15 minutes to get at the concession. Only one concession employee who was working very very hard and doing good work. Out front the Taco Shack also appeared to be doing a good business. It’s hard to believe that Old Mill is not a profitable business and that Barnstorm Theater couldn’t do the same. BTW, “A man called Otto” with Tom Hanks is a very enjoyable movie and Sumter Landing an enjoyable night out.

How about a decent doggie daycare

A night club venue, something like Katy Bells used to be.

We were sold on TV simply because of all the venues, including THREE MOVIE THEATERS.

Were there 3 here when you decided to move here?

Today there are not enough NEW movies to fill 3 multi-plex theaters.

Brownwood wasn't built yet, so there's that...

Yes but they closed a month after we moved in. Do understand why they have not reopened theater and why they probably never will.

LSL & Brownwood closed due to covid, right? Not sure if SS closed before that...

Sorry to hear you're moving. But I completely understand, after all, this place absolutely sucks with only one movie theater

SS was under renovation prior to the pandemic, but then works on it ceased
LSL is open on a limited schedule
Brownwood closed due to poor attendance due to the pandemic and was temporarily transformed into an infusion center

I believe they all closed because of COVID. The Rialto's upgrades stalled because of COVID.

It may be available to lease. You build it, they may come.

I had forgotten that the renovations had already started in SS, and that it was already walled off when I first visited in 2019...

And yes, I knew about the others and the Infusion Center...
