I will be down in mid-December. If you don't find any book clubs, maybe the three of us can start our own!

I will be home to Canada for Christmas but then back in January but I am sure we could find a time that works for all of us.

Is anyone reading anything good that would be a good choice for a book club?

Arriving late November. Love to join a group or book club. Count me in. Sounds like after the holidays would be a good time to get together.

Arriving Oct. 24 - I'm up for a book club. I'm in Belvedere Village, south of 466 ... anyone close?

This is updated around every Thursday. http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/c...ns/recnews.pdf

Check out the clubs and organizations section under Dialogue Book Club and Nonfiction Book Club. It lists what books they are reading. I am fairly certain there are other book clubs in the Villages. Contact the local libraries too. They often have book clubs.

Thanks for the link to the rec news. It listed 2 book clubs. For those of you who are interested this is what I learned.

The Dialogue Book Club will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday in the Geronimo room at Chula Vista Center. The book for this month is “Middlesex” by Jeffrey Eugenides. The club reads a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction and historical novels, and includes at least one classic per year. At this meeting, members will begin selecting books for January to June 2008. The book for Nov. 20 is “Cross Creek” by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, and the selections for Dec. 18 are “The Glass Castle: A Memoir” by Jeanette Walls and “The Christmas Shoes” by Donna VanLiere. Join members at 9:30 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month for interesting and lively discussions. Many members continue the camaraderie over lunch after the meeting. New members are always welcome, and the book list is on file at Barnes & Noble in Lake Sumter Landing. For information, call Kathy Porter at 2598196.

And ... The Nonfiction Book Club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the third Monday of every month in the Jose Iturbi room at La Hacienda Center. There is a stimulating, in-depth discussion of a current book followed by group discussion and agreement of future books to be read and discussed. The schedule for upcoming discussions is: • Oct. 15: “E=Einstein: His Life, His Thought and His Influence On Our Culture,” edited by Donald Goldsmith and Marcia Bartusiak. • Nov. 19: “Germs, Guns and Steel: The Fate of Human Society” by Jared Diamond. • Dec. 17: “The Real All Americans: The Team that Changed the Game” by Sally Jenkins. • Jan. 21: “Infidel” by Ayann Hirsi Ali. For information, contact Tom Leonard at 753-2917 or Lenie@aol.com.

Hope this helps. I know there are other book clubs but do not know the details of each club. This is a good start.
