Default Best Golf Kart Path

Greetings once again.

Now that the Water Lily Bridge ( the bridge that crosses over the Turnpike ) is nearing completion, some of us in the southern frontier are anxious in exploring the great north of The Villages; north of 44 by golf kart. Driving in the unforbidden northern lands of The Villages by car is not the same as by golf kart and some of us are seeking advise from our northern friends as to which are the best golf kart paths to visit.

I have noticed that the golf kart paths along Lake Sumter Landing are beautiful, especially during sunset. Any suggestions as to which paths to explore are sincerely appreciated and I wish to apologize to our northern friends that at anytime, there will be an influx of southern folks heading your way soon.
Thanks

Take the big loop. North on Morse, cross 466A at Colony Rec Center tunnel and continue north about 3 miles to a tunnel over to Winn Dixie and onto LSL. Go through the square and go around Gators Dockside and then south past Barnes & Nobles and keep south past Sonny's BBQ and go west to the tunnel and go under Stillwater and take Buena Vista south to 466A. You can stay on BV and go onward to Brownwood or take the cart path along 466A on the southside of the road back to Colony, about 3 miles of straight MMP. If you were to continue on Buena Vista just stay on the road until the fire station and then take the tunnel to Brownwood and work your way past the golf cart store and the theater to the Brownwood bridge. Drive around Brownwood and check it out while you there.

If you want a much shorter trip, when you take Morse north, don't take the tunnel over to the Sarasota Driving Range and the tunnel to Colony, stay on the MMP and go left and follow along 466A and head about 3 miles to Buena Vista and then go south to Brownwood.

My suggestion is to set a goal to go over every bridge in The Villages. That includes the 1 over the turnpike, the 2 over 44, and the 1 in Spanish Springs over 441. Just like trying to play every golf course in The Villages.

I like the path just north of Sumter over to BV with the big welcome to the villages sign. I also love the tunnel of love path just north of the Polo Field along the golf course.

What is so nice about the cart paths is every so often, there is a strategically placed island to separate the opposing traffic on the path. This is good because it prevents people from speeding and passing on the paths. It makes riding on the paths safer for everyone and also makes it prettier.

The paths and tunnel system in the northern part of The Villages is still a wondrous feat to me. The bridge over 441 is like a fun ride because it is so steep. I can't believe I live in this glorious community.

Make a point to visit all three town squares by golf cart. Exploring the community is a fun part of being new to TV. Also, make a point of crossing the bridge to the historic side. Be sure to see the pool at Orange Blossom.

Remember to pack a lunch if you are coming from the other side of the Turnpike.

There are many beautiful paths on the north side but the spot between Laurel Manor and Saddlebrook is my favorite. Do not forget you can stop at any rec center if you need to use the restroom. We recently went on our golf cart adventure by going over the Chitty Chatty Bridge and returning by the Brownwood Bridge. We stopped for lunch, explored the new villages, checked out the Trillium Rec Center and had a great day. The Villagers in the south can now do that in reverse. You will need more than one day but have fun and make it an adventure.
