Well...I don't know if it was the best but I sure was entertained on the Wild Bill Air Boat ride.
It started out very slow and we wandered through the marsh grasses viewing all sorts of wild life including many many gators. The captain took the boat into a small bay, just big enough to turn around that was spring feed and surrounded by the forest very pretty. All very interesting and educational. Then on the way back, the ride of a lifetime. It was really kewl. High speed runs and turns with the accompanying spray. The captain would dig the bow in and pivot the boat on its length. All very new to me as I sailed all my life so I found the whole trip a blast. I really had mental issues when the skipper would cross areas that were about 1" deep. It is near-by on Rt 44 west of Wildwood. May not be the best but for the first airboat ride it was kewl. I think the boat held about 20 people. It is fairly large, take the front row of seats for the best ride. |

Wild Bill's was a decent ride. Tamer than a similar ride in the Everglades but still a lot of fun.

Thanks for the info. I have a teenage niece & nephew visiting later this year & was considering this type of field trip, along with visiting some local State parks.
