Default Battery operated Greenworks lawnmower problem

Battery Lawnmower repair. Looking for someone who has worked on battery operated self propelled lawn mowers. I have a 5 yr old Greenworks 60V battery lawnmower that has a problem. Trying to find someone that has worked on small motor battery operated devices. The battery is fully charged but the mower will only run 10 seconds or so before it stops. If it was a gas mower I would say it’s the carburetor or bad gas. Since this motor has neither I’m at a loss. I asked the manufacturer if it could be the PC board and they told me if that was faulty it wouldn’t start period. I’m at a loss

Some batteries show a full charge but cannot hold a full charge.
I would test battery before all else.
Especially if original battery.

I can probably help with connecting a meter to see if the battery voltage drops really quickly as noted above. The other possibilities would be a build up of grass and or debris that is causing additional friction, and the motor is sensing the overload and shutting down. I would expect the blades and motor to be relatively easy to spin.
Send me a PM if you would like me to look at it, as i do not post contact info on open forums.

Lets start with the obvious. The battery is five years old, do you have (or your neighbor has) another battery to try in the mower?

Most of the cordless power tools* charge lithium battteries to 100% and run them down to 10% and do not cool the batteries while charging. This is horible to battery life expectrancy. At five years you are probably at the end of battery life. Especially if you store the battery in your hot garage (horrible idea).

*Makita batteries use a fan to cool batteries while charging

Default Possible Short?

Perhaps you start up at line to neutral but somehow something vibrates causing line to line or a short? Then the motor does the shut off? A super good cleaning with the airchuck around the battery base and cord adapter may help. It’s a lawn mower, debris is likely the issue in most cases. When the armature overheats, the product shuts off so the thermoswitch/coupling can reset?
