We are currently planning our move to The Villages in the next few months and will be wanting to add a pool and birdcage. We have yet to make a final decision on the business we will hire to do the work, so any reference is helpful. Also, the main question is getting an idea of what the cost may be so we are able to budget accordingly. Thank you all!

Our CYV pool, which is a little less than 10x20, with birdcage was $32k, through All Seasons. Don't quote my price to them though, as they will tell you they have never installed a pool and birdcage for that price. That was what we were told by someone who came by to look at our pool and then called them for a price. It doesn't have any fountains, which we have regretted, but does have jets on one of the benches...

Hi, we added pool (15X30) which I designed and
Birdcage (53X23) in 2013. Work done by Waterman Construction . Ted was a pleasure to work with. Approx cost was $55,000. This was with solar heat, gas heater & 3 waterfalls. We only use gas heater When water temp drops below 88 & we want to swim. we also went to over 20 open houses w/pools to get Ideas. Hope that helps with your decision. |

Looking for an estimated cost to add concrete and a bird cage. Estimated sq feet is 625. Would appreciate and input and help on a contractor that is in good standing with you or other individuals in the villages.
Thank you |

I had T & D build my pool with birdcage. I have three waterfalls and two sets of jets with three interior lights within the pool. I have decorative ceramic fish on the beach area. I also had a heat pump installed. The pool is a kidney shape, 29 feet long and 17 feet at the widest point going down to 14 feet at the narrow point. The cost was $56,000. I signed my contract before the January 1, 2015 increase of about 5% otherwise the cost would be slightly more. After the pool was completed I had solar heat installed at a cost of $3,500 so I would agree the cost of a pool with birdcage is between $60,000-$100,000 depending on options. I didn't consider getting any quotes from any other contractor other than T & D. They finished my pool a week before schedule. No surprises and 100% communication. I LOVE MY POOL!!

I cannot say enough about T and D. They install all pools for the developer too, and I can see why they use them.
They arrived and sat in their trucks every morning until seven when they began. They worked every day until at least five and sometimes longer if that task needed to be finished. They have teams that do specific things; such as removal of sod irrigation system and digging the hole and the concrete pourers and waders and a separate division (brother) who does the screen enclosure. A team that paints or finishes the decking with pavers etc. And a group that replaces the sod. When the equipment must drive on your lawn they protect it with boards and things. They have a project manager who tells you what to expect next and why there might be a day or two when they don't do anything. I enjoyed having these hard working and very nice people in our yard.

We have pool and huge birdcage. Birdcage ran $10,000 7 years ago. Pool around 40,000 and its a nice size! We love our private outdoor pool and its the best investment we ever made. Ask other villagers tips when putting one in. You will get some good advice. As far as adding value when you sell it won't but the enjoyment you will get for years to come is priceless

I don't think the homes in the Villages comply with any of the norms. You might recoup a greater percentage of the price here over other locations. I think this is true with lots of Villages upgrades. Do people recoup the price of extreme landscaping projects or driveway sealing, etc.? I'm not a realtor so this is my uneducated opinion.

Yes forgot we added solar panels also for another 3 grand. We opted to go with separate hot tub (Coleman) because we liked the fact it had so many jets including neck jets where you could lie back and enjoy. That ran another 8 grand but we use that in winter. And don't forget the beautiful landscaping you will want to do around pool. But that you can do yourself or over time. We Love our pool!
