I know the ARC has the final say but has anyone installed artificial turf in the back yard of a CYV. If so how long have you had it and your opinion of it. Thanks..

don't do it. there's case not too long ago of someone who put this in without approval & ended up not only having to dig it out @ their own expense, & i THINK they were fined on top of it. even if it's the back you want to use it for, i highly doubt they would let you do this.

7 years but would not recommend the company we went through (if you need to know, PM me as I will need to look it up). We love it even though not as promised (gone flat, it's hot for the dogs, etc.. Spoke with ARC & was told that they don't say anything that is done in the backyards of CV's.

You can get approval for the back yard of a Courtyard Villa - it's hidden from view by the walls and the rules are less restrictive. You still need approval for a change like that. I'm all for putting down turf - as long as you make it all putting green with 18 holes... and invite folks from this topic to test it out ![]() Seriously though, I would think long term this would not be a good idea. The Florida sun will bleach it and it will break down, and will be a pain to remove. |

You may want to carefully review the drainage in this area. Some of the villas have drains for the back yard and you will need to carefully design and grade this area so it drains correctly, otherwise you or your neighbor may end up with water problems during heavy rains. Also, make sure you ask about the probable build up of dust excreta on the ability of this material to drain properly..
