Default Aldi Winn dixie

Will take a while before we get details. The one place I see aldi taking over a Winn Dixie is sumter landing store. Not a aldi store close to that one. My wife works at Winn Dixie but aldi store on 466a to close to that one.

In fact, when minimum wage goes to $15/ hr = $0.25/minute, I'll bet it will take an employee more than 1 minute to retrieve it, especially considering how far away I would leave it. But that's just another reason I won't be shopping at Aldis
That's a bit petty.
Aldi are smart and need one less employee to gather the wayward carts.
I have no idea of Aldis wage structure in US. but in UK they are the best paying grocery chain.
That includes the 'posh' stores similar to Publix, where many shop to pay higher prices for the same food.

EVERY grocery store (and every other store that offers carts) should instill this policy. There is nothing worse than stray carts in the parking lot, especially when they are up against my car.

Perhaps, but IMHO, requiring a shopping cart deposit is "petty". Plus, how many quarters do they need to gain to offset the loss of each customer????

My point is that people should be returning their carts regardless. Those that don't are probably just going to forfeit their quarter. If they want to put teeth into the policy, they should require a $100 deposit.

Your quarter is returned for good behavior.
Actually the US. gets a good deal.
Our carts require a £1 coin, which at today's ex-rate is a $1.28.
Oy Vey!

Default Shopping cart deposit

Apparently those who are complaining about a cart deposit have never shopped in Europe. It's standard operating procedure there, and it works, with no complaints.

This thread reads like the North/South of 44 threads... Very entertaining!

It seems that most posts are about the Aldis 25 cent cart return policy. I can understand that as there is little to say about its selection and quality. I'd rather drive to Sav A Lot than any Aldis.

So WD name isn’t going to change..just the owner. That said, do you buy name brand frozen, cereal, baking products, canned?

Wonder if the big change, will slowly watch name brand items disappear in WD, and Aldi brand take over. They make more money, and force you to do so, or just don’t shop there.

Have only been in Aldi once, since we buy very little processed food, it’s not the food or brand I want in my pantry.

As far as fresh, I found Aldi, fruit or veggies, perish quickly next to other fruit or veggies purchased elsewhere (yes I did a comparison, that was the reason, I only went to Aldi once)

Yes please! All the Aldis Haters and assumers-that-it-COSTS-.25 for a cart - Kep going down to Publix and others. There are some who 'look down' to folks who shop at Aldis. That's just fine.

We will continue to use Aldis as our #1 stop for groceries. Snooties go elsewhere.

I think this will be a great move for Aldi. I'm not rich enough to shop at Publix every time.
We all know Publix is way over the top over priced, but you pay for convenience.

Actually I was referring to WD not Aldi’s. Aldi’s what I seen full of off cheap brands displayed like Sams club in bulk. Most are not same level of Walmart that offers main brands. I can remember WD in last 70’s having financial problems and several times after. If they supply WD’s with off brand of Aldi’s IMO it’s lose lose situation.
To each their own.

The 25 cent cart thing is to get you to take your cart back. Naturally most shoppers shopping there will do that cause well they are shopping there. IMO it should be dollar at every store. Maybe that would motivate all shoppers to return carts in proper place. But, they’re always the privileged that won’t do at any cost.

I tend to agree with you. I've always thought of Aldi as a dollar store for food. They do have a nice box of assorted crackers though. Have to give them that.
