Default Absolute Queen

Went to the concert tonight and I loved it. They played all the good songs and had some cute little stories. They said they will be back in April for 3 shows. Very enjoyable evening and a nice setup.

Getting in took longer than expected and there was very little direction until you got in. What really surprised me were the number of people that left the concert, some as early as the first of second song and many more after 6-7 songs. By the time the concert was getting close to the end about half the people had left but we got to hear 4 more songs.

Well worth the $30 we paid.

We saw them at the Savannah Center pre-Covid. They put on a good show. When you get back to MA, keep a look out for the cover band “Almost Queen”, they play frequently in the area. In my opinion, they are even better than Absolute Queen. The other band to look out for is “Get the Lead Out”, a great Zeppelin cover band. It would be great if the Villages could get them to perform there.

Almost Queen just played in our home town the past weekend, at The Cabot in Beverly.

We also went to the concert. We did not think it was great. The lead singer was engaging, the play list was good, and the production values were good. Unfortunately that did not make up for the mediocre singing. We were in the "cheap seats" in a golf cart so maybe it seemed better up close.

The good news is it was only 30 bucks. I would not go back to see them again.

Maybe because they, like us, had a review of the evening that differed greatly from the OP...

We stayed about an hour...

And I certainly wasn't going to go thru the wait the hour to get out that we went thru to get in! When we got to the front of the line, there were people standing around, no one knew why it took so long...

Add to that, I thought they were a poor imitation, at best. The singer struggled with all of the high notes (could be contributed to the night air), and the sound man should have been drawn and quartered...

I bought golf cart tickets when they first went on sale, and my ticket showed a row and "seat" number. When I got there, we were directed, along with everyone else, waaaaay off to the side, when better spots were available, with actual visibility of the stage. We couldn't even see the video screens. I asked about where our "seats" were located and I just got "shrugs, just follow the cart in front of you" replies

We took out lawn chairs to the front, where we were told there was better viewing.

There was maybe 6 feet of space in front of the first row of golf carts and the rope closing off our area. It was completely filled...

We spoke with people who went last year and they were also very disappointed. They told us that last year, the golf carts could drive right up to the stage and visibility was great. No idea why it was changed...

I have tickets for "The Guess Who" on Friday... I'm debating tossing the tix and just going out for a nice dinner...

Having seen “Queen” twice a cover band would be such a disappointment

We bought tickets to 3 of these events...and then started thinking about the logistics of it all, the time to get to the polo field by golf cart, the time to get home, the toilet facilities....then Smoky Robinson pulled out and we decided not to deal with it all....glad they have the refund to credit offer.....just not all that appealing when you add it all up. Smoky tickets were refunded to our card, the other two for credit, but that works.

$30 and maybe more to see a cover band in an outdoor venue and not in an area designed for a concert. Saw U2 several years back for $75.00 with a real seat.

Yes, reading the comments, seems maybe the villages entertainment has a few issues/challenges to work on. The pandemic has pressured everything, and we are so lucky in Florida to be able to "adjust" so many things to be out in the open air, so perhaps, they will get these things worked out (hopefully !) and we'll have a working format for a lot of outdoor concerts in the future !

Sorry you guys did not enjoy yourself as I did. Yes the singers voice was off some but the bass player had a good voice. The music itself was good and they played every song that I knew. We had no issue with the golf cart area and brought our chairs up to get a good view of the stage. Food, bars, bathrooms were all fine and it was a nice evening. Getting in was unorganized but leaving was easy.

Almost Queen was miles above this group, I agree!

Probably a lot more than "several" years ago...

Hell, I just saw the Eagles, back in September.

Decent seats, nothing special... $300 a pop!

Anything near the stage was $750...

Thumbs down Very disappointed in Absolute Queen! Can we get out money credited back?

Once we finally got into the Polo Field we thought all of our frustrations were going to be a thing of the past. As soon as the first song started the lead singer was horrible and couldn’t sing on key. I’m not a professional and it really sounded bad. He is supposed to be the best in the group, but instead the rest of the band was great. We left after 5 or 6 songs. We kept thinking he would get better but instead he butchered Freddie’s songs. What a shame.

Can we get our money credited back?

We went, had a good time with our friends. Lead singer was terrible. The people that said he was great need to get the hearing aids fixed. The lead guitar was not bad. We went the next night to see the Elton John Tribute. He was great.
