Default Malasadas.

Malasadas | Leonard's Bakery

Anyone have a recipe for making these? Or does someone know where you can buy some of these that are very good in the Villages' area?

Oh, NOTHING compares to Leonard's, but this is about the closest you will find in the area. Lived on top of Wilhelmina Rise on Maunalani Circle. Running down the mountain to Kapahulu to pick some up hot and fresh was heavenly.

This place in Orlando is good, several different flavors available.

Leonard’s are just OK! If you want REAL Malasadas need to go to Fall River, MA! Also, the ladies at St. Bernard’s Church in Assonet, MA make the absolute best Malasadas!!! They raised over $75,000 to pay off the mortgage! If you want to try to make them yourself, YouTube has several recipes.

Portuguese donut. Most cultures have some variation of frybread/doughnut recipe. The only ones I have had that I didn't like were too oily or made with old or rancid oil.
Bread/cake, oil and sugar. What's not to like?
