Default Parking at Port Everglades, Ft. Lauderdale Cruise port

Taking Celebrity out of Port Everglades - Terminal 18. The website says Term. 18 has parking for 600 cars and adjacent lot with additional 400 spaces.

My question is....if I park there will there be a long walk to the terminal? Is there a shuttle that runs through the parking lot, by chance?

Should I consider parking off site with a lot that does offer a shuttle that will take us to the terminal? It's only 3 days, so the $15/day is OK. Not trying to find cheaper, just most convenient.

If I do park at the port, can the fee just come off my sunpass?

Appreciate any input.

no it can not be used on sunpass.
My experience at Port Everglades (with Princess cruises) is that the parking garages are not very far from the terminals.

You will be able to drive in to your ships baggage drop off area where porters will take your bags for loading onto your ship.
Then drive to the parking garage.

On the way back you can either roll your baggage with you to the garage/your car. Or you can have a porter take your bags with you....bigger tip for this service.

If you choose to park off site remember you will need transportation getting to the ship which is not too bad. However on the return you will be confronted with waiting for that transportation to get you back to your car and with the rush of folks disembarking can involve some waiting for your ride.

Thanks billethkid. That's about what I was thinking. I'll just drop off my traveling companions, with the luggage, go find a parking place and hoof it back.

Do you happen to know how early you need to be? Will the parking lot fill up?

I have parked in Port Everglade's lots numerous times and found it very easy. Get there early and you won't have to walk to far. Last cruise we got to the port around 10:30 and parked next to an elevator.

For longer cruises, remember that there are several hotels/motels around the airport which offer discounted and/or free parking while you're cruising, so long as you stay with them before sailing.

As an example, my friend and I are sailing aboard the Westerdam on 3/8. We're staying the night before at Springhill Suites (Dania Beach). Parking for 3/7 is $0, for the following 7 nights, $5 each.

Not a bad deal. And the proprty has its own shuttle to get you to and from the pier!
