The only one I saw was Top Gun Maverick, but I fell asleep halfway through it. Fortunately, I was in my recliner. I was talked into paying 20 bucks to rent it, totally against my financial principles.

Two is all we saw. Most of the so called top movies never made it to any theater for which we have easy access. “Where the crawdads sing” Brief look didn’t see it?

I enjoyed The Woman King, Prey, Barbarian and The Banshees of Inisherin.

Loved Top Gun: Maverick .

Only watched the first twenty minutes of a few of the others.

Hmmmmm.

Beavis and Butthead do the Universe rated two spots OVER Top Gun: Maverick???

Rotten Tomatoes over the last decade or so has shown a progressive tendency to rate movies according to what they think the readers should be thinking, as opposed to what the raters might think privately about the movie(s) in question.

I would have to see their methodology on how the audience votes are counted.

I watched the "Banshees". I wrote a little note to myself about it.......TOO GOOD. It was definitely good. But, it was almost too good. It was sad and tense. It sort of twisted my brain !

I used to think this just applied to the critics ratings, then RT deleted my account for no reason (I just gave star scores not written reviews). I later discovered that a large number of people who gave the wrong ratings to the wrong films had their accounts deleted as well.

Some said that it was slow and too long. If I like a movie, it could be 4 hours long and I would still like it. I watch a lot of sci/fi movies and "After Yang" was unique because it had very few special effects. It put the audience in a NEAR future and gave them a relatively ordinary plot line, which ADDED to the realism and made the audience feel as if they were actually in that future. It is a peaceful future with few temper outbursts or violence. It is more like today than any other sci/fi movie.
........"After Yang" is a little bit like the Prime series "Peripheral", but with even fewer special effects.

It is interesting that this show portrays a future where IQs have dropped for ALL the people. They barely can get out of each other's way.
