The Ethics of Being a Bystander | Muhlenberg News

This is a very interesting article from the Muhlenberg Weekly a student publication from PA. This is one of the many publications along with the Sports blog of Brandeis University (http://thejustice.org) I was writing back in 2000 through 2003 about my survivors/victims rights campaign and the problems I was facing back then.


It is about the work of Jackson Katz. http://www.jacksonkatz.com/mvp.html It is mainly about getting leaders from Sports settings like high school and college male stars to talk about preventing domestic violence, bullying, and other social problems. Very creative and very practical approach which could help stop school shootings and the like especially if expanded a little bit.

I hope that you will help spread this lightning like approach around. Give back to the communities you came from by telling your grandkids, nieces, nephews, etc. about it. Should counter some of the negative publicity we have seen about the Villages in the past like with Andrew Blechman as well as now with Annette Witheridge.

I would certainly not worry about the Annette Witheridge piece. It's so riddled with errors (factual, grammatical and spelling) that it is obviously more of a blog post than a news story. And who's ever heard of that website before this? Not worth a worry.

Not worried about that article. Just trying to make a point about how some --like Andrew Blechman and Annette Witheridge--see the Villages. I believe both of these journalists visited the Villages. http://joed205.blogspot.com/ It looks like Ms. Witheridge was in the Villages when she posted her story.

Getting involved with my survivors/victims rights project might help offset this image. It does seem like a worthwhile effort. I have been using 613 and 224 as identifiers for its progress since mid 1993. Of course, these numbers are not used only for this project alone but many people put different uses on them http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/i...n_freeman.html and 224 probably to sell computers. Of course, people from other religions might be a little angry about this as would Microsoft shareholders with 224. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs

I am hoping that people are getting involved with what happens to us in this life rather than just worrying about the next. Of course, maybe Hollywood just got very religious all of the sudden? I had hoped that they would be more concerned about the members of its audiences' lives now than whether they are following the 613 Old Testament Commandments. http://www.jewfaq.org/613.htm
