An old work buddy just emailed me that he will be in Tampa next week and would like to meet me for dinner. Are there any good restaurants that are about halfway between TV and Tampa? Any help would be appreciated!!

We occasionally meet our old neighbors from Wesley Chapel 1/2 way at a restaurant called Papa Joe's (Italian) in Brooksville. Good food, right off I-75 so it is easy access. Not fancy by any means but a decent place at the 1/2 way mark. It is roughly about 35 minutes south from The Villages. Google Papa Joe's in Brooksville. Also, if you want to go a little more south on I-75, there are some restaurants in the Wiregrass Mall in Wesley Chapel. That will be about an hour from The Villages but depending where your friend is staying in Tampa, could be about 1/2 way. There is Cantina Laredo (Mexican), GrillSmith, and Pagelli's (Italian) at the mall. Hope this helped.

I agree with all those choices. There are also others in Wesley Chapel like Winners(a sports bar) and Remington's. Both are on #54 west of #75...oh no, wait Winner's is right at 54 and 75. Wiregrass Mall is the next exit down and has a nice selection of restaurants. Papa Joe's can be very crowded at this time of year.

Check out Dempseys Steakhouse at the Saddlebrook Resort a little North of Tampa. Top shelf! Google them and see for yourself.
