My wife and I both see Dr. Patrick Williams at Florida Heart & Vascular. He is a former Air Force Flight Surgeon and a good communicator.

There are cardiologists and there are those who specialize in rhythm (electrophysiologist). I suffered with afib for several years while being treated by two different cardiologists with medications. Neither ever mentioned the possibility of an ablation! I finally found Dr Coutourier and he had just brought in Dr Omar Shams who did an ablation and I have been symptom free for 16 months. I have also heard rave reviews of Dr. Garcia! Good luck!

I go to Dr. Couturier and would highly recommend him or his colleague, Dr. Shams.
I don't much like doctors so this is saying a lot, but Dr. Shams is fan-freaking-tastic, both as a human being and a physician. He's a great diagnostician and truly cares about his patients. Couturier is up there as well.

It seems that, as difficult as it is to find a good neurologist around here, it's relatively easy to stumble on an excellent cardiologist.

My vote goes to Dr. George Couturier, Heart of the Villages. The location is above Citizens First Bank, Spanish Springs. Full service cardiology care.

Dr Gummadi is a Munroe based cardio doc. I ended up with him when my PCP sent me to doctor Garcia for a routine echo and Dr. Garcia misread the echo. Due to that I was sent to Dr. Gummadi (who I thought was fantastic and I am accustomed to Boston docs) and was put on medication and went for a heart catherization at Munroe to see if I needed a stent or a defibrillator. All of that was for nothing as my heart was perfect in the sense that the echo reading was totally wrong. That was due to Dr. Garcia that I went through all of that. His office wouldn't even let my husband talk to him. They said he had to make a medical appointment to be seen in order to talk to the doctor. That made no sense! You get to see what kind of doctor he is when something goes wrong and they refuse to even talk to you.

I agree, i went to Dr Couturier on my own to establish myself with a cardio in the event
I ever need one. Dr C did a complete nuclear work up in his office and i was super impressed w him and his staff. Luckily, Dr C did not find anything wrong but complemented me on my proactive planning. Would recommend him without hesitation.
