Default Health Insurance for snowbirds age < 65 ?

Dear Villagers,

I just moved to TV about 2 months ago and I am too young to have Medicare.

I realize that I can only go to Urgent Care or Emergency Room if I need to see a doc using my healthnet PPO plan.

I enjoy living in TV very much and plan on staying here for half of a year.(I cant be a FL resident at this moment)

Is there insurance plan that allows snowbird to see docs in any state within US other than urgent care or emergency care ?

Thanks,

Yoko

Here is what google tells me. Healthnet PPO seems to be mostly a California insurance. If you go to Healthnet.com and search for providers you get this very clear instruction after entering Sumter County FL as the location:

"If you are a CA PPO Group Plan member, please review your search at the county, city or zip code level to make sure the information you entered is correct. If the information is correct, and you are looking for a provider outside of California please visit Cigna Healthcare PPO Network (click the National PPO Network link located on the right) to find a listing of network providers in your area."

And that resource gives you many options here for covered care. If you are not in that system, call the 800 number on your card to find local care options.
