Default Zoysia Green lawn service?

I'd like to hear what customers have to say about Zoysia Green lawn service company.

We are at the one year mark with Superior lawn service, and want to try a different company. We have a lot of thin areas and a bunch of Bermuda-grass. I know that Bermuda-grass is a tough problem. Superior says that nothing can be done about it, while Zoysia Green says they can control it with spot application of Fusulade. I recently walked the yard with the builder's landscaper, Sloan, and he recommended Zoysia Green for this reason.

We have had Zoysia Green for four years and have been happy with the result. We had Massey before them and felt the lawn was the worst on the block. Zoysia came out and guaranteed my lawn would look better in two months, and it did. When my lawn got infested with torpedo grass (?), came out to look at it and have treated it to keep it under control. At one point three years ago, the lawn started to look bad and they came right out when I called. They explained they were having trouble getting a particular fertilizer component and had switched temporarily to another one, but had found a new source and were going back to the old formula. Once they did, the lawn has looked great.

I subscribe to the every other month plan and I put a light feeding of balanced fertilizer on the months they don't fertilize. My neighbor has the same plan and doesn't fertilize himself and his lawn looks just as good as mine. Our lawns stay green a bit longer than some of the others around and seem to awaken quicker than others in the spring.

So, I recommend them. BTW, I first contacted them when I noticed that most of the new homes were serviced by them before they were sold.

I have seen the lawns they service and I myself just signed with them this past December. I like what I have seen. After they spray, you can actually smell the products being placed on your lawn.

Sort of looks like crab grass without the seed stalks. Sends runners everywhere. In zoysia, looks like a thicker version of zoysia. Apparently it likes wet conditions, so if you have an area that doesn't drain well, it thrives.

Torpedograss is one of the most serious weeds in Florida. It grows in or near shallow waters forming monocultures where it can quickly displace native vegetation. It can also be found in more upland situations and is a frequent problem in sod production. Native to Africa and/or Asia, it was introduced to the United States before 1876, primarily through seed used for forage crops. In the early 1900’s the United States Department of Agriculture imported and distributed torpedograss seed for planting in pasturelands, providing forage for cattle. Torpedograss has not yet been listed on the Federal or State Noxious Weed List.

Does Zoysia Green also mow your lawn. I have always mowed my own lawn even though I had a lawn care service but I would want to "relax and enjoy" a little more after I close on my house in February.

Thanks
Mike

mbikowski,

I don't think they do the mowing. Most fertilizer/weed companies only apply product. You then cut it yourself or hire a mowing company. One exception is KB, they do it all.

Can you please provide contact information for Zoysia Green? I'm looking for lawn fertilization and would like to get a quote.

Zoysia Green Incorporated

Address: 36600 Micro Racetrack Rd
Phone number: 352 323-8454
Zip code:
City: Fruitland Park, Florida (FL)

Last week I signed the contract and had the first treatment. I am paying by the treatment, rather that for the whole year in advance. We have to go home tomorrow, and won't be back until May or so. I won't know until then if the lawn is getting better.
