Has anyone had experiences with this company?? They seemed legit but they sweettalked me into having my yard (courtyard villa) weeded and trimmed "For Free" if I bought red pine mulch at $13.88 per 40# containers. Little did I know (stupid me) it would take 197 of these containers to do my yard (corner unit) inside and out. I had asked them for an estimate and they said they would have to get into the project before they would know. Red Flag!! Anyway, it was over 2,500 dollars. I was floored but gave them a check. Learned my lesson. They said that price would include coming back 4 times to handle any new weeds. lol. Decided to tell other folks to be aware even if they do come back..................

I'm so sorry you got cheated like this. Have you talked to Seniors Against Crime about this? Sounds like a great scam to me. but not sure it is really illegal. Certainly wouldn't hurt to check and thank you for the head's up.

Someone else posted a thread in the past couple of days about this same outfit... can't seem to find that one now.
Anyway, the MO described here and on that other thread matches a crew that came through our neighborhood in early 2011. They don't quote specific prices or quantities then try to bully the customer to pay an outrageous fee. To the OP here (and that other person) ... can you give other members here a general idea where you are located? (e.g. Sanibel, Close to Evans Prarie, north end, etc). This might help others to know where they are currently operating. Unfortunately, what they are doing is not illegal. Extremely unethical without a doubt. To the OP, perhaps you or someone who can advocate for you.... can call the outfit, threaten to go to BBB/Seniors vs Crime, post on message boards etc and try to convince them to return some of your money. It's a long shot, but, worth a try. Good luck. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Please take redwitch advice and make that call. They scammed you. It's worth calling and they might be able to get some of your money back.

After moving here last October, I was appaled at how many people get taken by so-called "landscapers." I refer to them as "land-Scalpers" due to the rate at which many take advantage of all of us "rich Villagers." We need to all wake up of hold these folks accountable. I work for a large retail garden center that sells to contractors as well as the public and will DEFINITELY keep a lookout for these characters and try to get more info to help alleviate this scam. That mulch is often on sale at our store/5 bags for $10.00 and sometimes as low as $1.00 per bag, so their prices were way out of line. Assume it is too late to stop payment on your check.... |

Heads up...these guys are still operating.
They were knocking on doors and doing a job in Sabal Chase today. Community watch was called. Plain white truck, Tender Loving Care....Chester. Same outfit that came through here 3 yrs ago as Upscale Landscaping. Be very wary of dealing with these guys.

I am wary of all landscapers. They make a LOT of money...even ones who are above board. a LOT of money. Their margins are immense.
I know they work in the heat and the dirt and lift heavy stuff and work danged hard, but the guy who runs it is making big bucks. I know they don't have insurance and can ruin their backs and try to make hay while they are young and the sun shines and there are many of them who are decent folks. But many are NOT. Get three estimates. Read stuff on here.
