Being too cheap to buy that tool myself, I tried using the regular torch head on a propane torch on sidewalk-crack weeds. It did not work well.
(I have also tried using a large lens to focus the sun"s light on weeds. Another failure.) |

I have a weed dragon that I hook up to a 5 gallon propane tank strapped to a moving hand truck. Although it’s better than spraying toxic poison in the yard, torching the weeds only seems to knock them down but not kill them. You need to really torch them, then hit them again in a few days, to really kill them. I find that using industrial strength vinegar is easier and has about the same results.

A strong vinegar solution sprayed on the weeds will essentially do exactly the same thing. It will definitely kill the top part of the plant. If there's any significant root system, the weeds will grow back whether spraying with vinegar or burning the tops.

Checked weeds today brown shriveled up no green, but that’s with two burn sessions yesterday. About 3/4 of tank used. I found the new sprouts or young weeds shrivel up quickly while the established weeds takes 3 to 5 seconds. Guess I could get some maps gas it burns quit bit hotter, but it’s twice as much. |

“YES, flame weeding will kill the roots too! Even on big weeds (over 6"), you will see a stunting effect and even a kill within a few days, depending on how established the root system is and how long the plant was exposed to heat. Again, multiple application may be necessary for well-established pants” quoted from or friends at Google. |

Another expert, Mike Orzolek from Penn State, recommends that flaming weeds two to three weeks apart. Flaming will kill annual weeds completely, but does not kill the roots of perennial weeds. Often, gardeners will see new shoots a week or so after flaming and additional treatments can deplete the roots, killing the weeds. |

It’s not errant charges many are worried about but rather subpar potentially dangerous products, lack of stringent safety certification, and use of toxins in Temu products. Caveat emptor!

Vinegar or salt would work better and safer

Have one. Wind blows it out and fear of neighbor's Villa gas line (hand pick that area, too afraid of a "boom" lol) are only drawbacks. Need to get wind guard. Besides that it works great. A tank lasted a few months if you stay on the weeds. I don't have the hose system. Just the wand.
Will NEVER use temu. |

It’s only a weed burner. Not a NASA certified reentry vehicle. At worst he’s out a few bucks and a lil time. Tho I hear those weed burners work quite well. |

I occasionally buy from Temu, I do NOT have the app on my phone, I buy off their website. For payments I use Paypal so they don't see my credit card info. As for their quality, they are selling much of the same stuff that they make for Amazon, Walmart and big box stores, you just skip the middleman.
