Default Having Trouble Finding A Lawn Mowing Service

I'm new to The Villages living in Wildwood. I'm having trouble finding a lawn mowing service. My lawn is smaller and using a tractor isn't really feasible. The ones I've contacted either don't answer their phone, don't call back, or decline since they do tractor size lawns only. Can someone recommend a reliable lawn mowing service for a smaller size lawn?

The second best reason moving south of 44 is very little lawn company traffic within the neighborhood. In our area we might see 2 a week, they seem to do multi homes at a time, mostly in PV area.

Upwards of 70% in our neighborhood mow themselves, with large percentage of homes with pools total time less than an hour.

If you are not here during summer, (winter mow is never weekly) then take a walk around your neighborhood, find the guy. Most likely they will be happy to add you on as a customer.

But fair warning never pay up front yearly, that lawn guy will disappear in the night. From 2010 to 2016 we had 8 lawn guy disappear, stopped mowing but continued to bill. We have outdoor cameras to monitor lawn care.
Deans does our pest control so we added them to mow, in 2016. Yes they keep CC card on file, bill once a month, but no matter what they showed up weekly, until we sold the house. Random company will not take you on if they don’t have a customer base in that area.

I use Massey for mowing for $55 per month. I also use their irrigation maintenance service for $40 per quarter, and their fertilizing service for $35 per quarter. They are not the best, but these are the cheapest prices I could find, and they do answer the phone when you have an issue. Any company that doesn't return calls is fired immediately. Dean's has never gotten my business because of their mandatory "credit card on file" policy.

Flexible as in i needed an extra mowing in November, my lawn was still growing. The company went down to twice a month. I even offered to pay but they refused to come out one extra time so I found someone else. They are not much better.

The Village structure is missing a golden opportunity, iIMO. Instead of changing flowers on roundabouts every month is so, developed a lawn care company for each district. I would gladly pay a set fee into the amenities to never worry about lawn care or threatening fines from the developer. Other senior communities have such a structure.

I live in St Catherine Verandas West. I use, I think it's, J & E Lawn Service now. The owner is Janeth Mendez (352) 342-7724. 14386 SE 47th Ave. Summerfield, FL 34491. When I first started with them at my other house in TV 4 years ago it was Janeth's Lawn Service. She used to be the one who mowed the lawn but now I have two guys who come. They use a push mower and do a pretty good job. They only come once every two or three weeks in the winter but they come pretty regular once a week during the growing season. They are not perfect but I've been through 4 other services and haven't found perfect. Price stayed the same as when I started 4 years ago.

You can give me a call at (352) 575-2317. I’m a retired villager and I do push mower only. Gary

Those other senior communities do not own their lawns (even though they act like they do). Usually they own only what's inside the paint on their home, sometimes they have a little 3-5' boundary. In any case, I have been maintaining senior communities for 40+ years. No way am I taking on a couple hundred individuals with nothing but time to complain. Just do the math. What'll they pay? $20-$30 per mow? To outfit a crew with a truck, trailer, large mower, small mower, edger, trimmers and blowers is over $100K. I can take that $100k and make more money buying a 5% bond, and I don't have the headaches.
