Thinking of installing a Palm Tree in yard. I see a lot of Palms that seem to have ferns growing on the trunk. I don’t like that look. Is this Natural? Can or should these be removed? What’s up?

Canary Palms are great hosts for ferns. Some people like the look, I don't. Easy enough to pull early.

I had a landscaper remove all the ferns growing on the trunk of one of my palm trees. The ferns grew back. I give up. I don't mind the look so the ferns are staying.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me 2 beauties in one tree.

I was told by a landscaper the health of the ferns will tell you how healthy your tree is. When the ferns are happy, the tree is happy too. I don't know if this is true but there is that.
