Have always wondered. What is different about this church? Is it Roman Catholic or a type of orthodox?

It is not Roman Catholic. Don't know about it being Orthodox.

I believe it is a non traditional Catholic Church. They have the same sacraments as Roman Catholics. It's a Christian church founded and based in the United States by Polish/Americans who were Roman Catholic. It's a breakaway Catholic Church and it differs theologically in several important ways such as the priest can marry. I have never been but it is interesting to visit different places of worship and I have done that many times since moving to The Villages since there are so many opportunities. I am a Roman Catholic and I have no desire to change my faith but it is very nice to get different views.

I've never reviewed a church before, but here goes...let's start with the Communal Wine which unites romantic brussels sprout midtones and a raucous Cool Whip aroma not unlike Champs de Merde's 2011 Bordeaux while still paying homage to tradition by mixing a you-know-you-want-it lavender bouquet with a Cap'n Crunch finishing. The wafers are nothing to write home about. The organist is superb and adds trills and flourishes which will make you tap your foot to the most boring of hymns. The costumes affect a gay and jolly atmosphere but the sermons lack the fire and brimstone one might have enjoyed in some of the local Pentacostal gatherings. The obligitory Friday Evening Spaghetti Dinners embrace a school cafeteria Ethos and they nail it. Sadly, no bingo.

The Roman Catholic Church is the original Catholic Church however I have heard of several other churches who are Catholic and like the Greek Orthodox they do not recongnize the Pope as the head of the church. They also allow divorced Catholics to receive communion which is one reason many Catholics have left the Roman Catholic Church. Actually the Episcopal church is so similiar to Catholic. Preists marry, and divorce is frowned upon however and you must go thru an annulment process very similar to the Catholic church to remarry and the Episcopal Bishop much approve. The mass is almost the same and divorced people may receive Communion. Confession is not one to one behind a closed door with the priest unless you request it.. I grew up a Roman Catholic but have I attended the Episcopal church and find it welcoming. I agree it is interesting to visit differant churches because I don't think as most of us do it does not matter where you go...
