Default What kind of experience have you had with Consumer Cellular?

I'm considering a switch from Verizon to Consumer Cellular to save a little money. I currently pay about $130/mo (including taxes and fees) for two phones. It appears I can switch to CS for about $50 - $60 with 10GB of data. Consumer Reports rates them #1.

If you are using Consumer Cellular, how do you like it? Data speed, customer service, voice/text response time, etc.

Thanks for your input.

I have had the service for several years, love it, love it and then love it some more. I don't know what my data speed it, but never have a problem with it. The customer service is excellent and has a call back system so you do not hang around waiting. Cost for just one phone, me, $23 a month. Cost for international to Europe 4c per minute. Does everything I need.

You could get all your questions answered accurately by calling their Customer Service, they are all in the USA and they all speak ENGLISH, yea.

Dumping AT&T for Consumer Cellular was one of the best things ever.
Go for it, you'll love CC. (We have had Verizon too, same as AT&T)

We’ve been using Mint Mobile for $15 per month per phone, including taxes.
Unlimited text, calls and data. They use T-mobile’s towers. Been very happy with them.

I have been with CC for 10 years. 4 phones for under $100. We have the unlimited call and text plan with 10 GB data. AARP members get a 5% discount. We have had no dropped calls. and could probably lower our data plan. CC uses AT&T towers and I think T mobil towers. Our SIM card is for the AT&T towers. The only thing I don't like is international that cost extra, but I think most companies charge more. If you have a phone they will send you a free SIM card or you can buy a phone from them or any other seller. They will port your number so you can keep the same number or you can get a new one.
