Default USAA Insurance

Has anyone started comparing USAA auto insurance with other carriers ? If so how was your research?

Seems to me USAA is pricing themselves out of the market. Anyone think this ?

Thanks

We had used USAA for many years prior to moving here. After we moved, USAA rates increased every year, forcing us to look around. We found a much better deal.

USAA does not want high risk customers, and we live in a zip code that has lots of accidents. And we are getting older.

They won't miss you.

When we ended our insurance with them, they sent us a nice check for the amount we had accumulated in our equity account.

We haven't had any issues with auto, it's always been competitive. However, we have never had luck with homeowners, especially in Ohio. We currently have auto, umbrella, and personal property with them. You'll never find anyone easier to deal with.

When I checked last they were high on all insurance they sell. Some people think they are part of government to help military and former military. They have no connection with government.

I get several discounts from them and of course the annual rebate, but yeah, their rates are still higher than some others.

However, they were so helpful and efficient the two times I was in an accident that the trust that I have in them is worth paying slightly more.

That said, I only have one car and pay around $50/month so it's not a big expense for me either way. Others will save a lot more by switching.

We always used USAA before we moved to Florida. Their rates are much higher than the carrier we went with through Premier Choice Insurance.

I called USAA a couple of weeks ago because my current homeowners policy with American Integrity was going up 20%. USAA gave me a quote that was even higher with the same coverage. Villages Insurance found me another policy with higher coverage and lower premium.

While I was on the line with USAA, they asked if I would like an auto quote. What they offered was almost double what I am paying Progressive for the same coverage.

So no USAA...
