Contractor working for The Villages also does homeowner repairs. Very responsive and fair pricing.

I called the Warranty Dept. and found out who installed my roof. Gave them a call and they fixed the roof. I found them to be reasonable and quick to respond.
The question to ask warranty, "Are they still preferred Villages contractor?".

Default Roof Vent Replacement

Just a while back there was a thread running regarding roof leaks after the freak wind driven rain storm we had in TV. At that time our roof had leaked and stained the cathedral ceiling.

It may be of interest to other residents who may have a similar problem to hear the background to our roof repair problem:

We had a leak. Called our insurance agent Village Insurance. They sent an appraiser who went up on the roof and examined the roof and found the problem to be the roof vent which had not been properly installed. Village Insurance called and asked who built the house. After a couple of weeks we received a check in the mail to get the roof repaired.

On various recommendations from TOTV we called Scott Smith Roofing 352-867-0044. They sent someone out to check the roof vent. He left an estimate which we accepted, and the roof vents were replaced properly within two days.

Scott Smith - excellent company with a "bricks and mortar" building and a real person answers your call -- not someone with a cell phone.

Once again - kudos to TOTV for an excellent roofer recommendation.
