UP north we used the services of private individuals who provided catered dinners in your home for special occasions. These were people that had health approved kitchens or kitchen access and could help you throw a dinner party for a small group in your home, to a larger function either in your home or your place of choice.
Does anyone know of simialr services provided by individuals in or around The Villages ?? Often they go by names of "Pampered Chef" or "Private Catering Services". |

When I first came here and wanted to do an Open House for all my neighbors and assorted friends, there weren't many choices at all, in the style to which I think you refer. I ended up using a local restaurant which is no longer in business, unfortunately. They did a superb job for me. For events in Village Rec Centers, you almost have to use La Hacienda (352-753-2367) if you want service as well as food. For events at home or where you can provide the service, just need the eats, you can call these listings from The Villages Yellow Pages: Bravo Pizza 352-430-2394 Carvel Catering 352-430-2588 Giovanni's Ristorante 352-751-6674 Scott's Creative Catering 352-259-9564 Toojay's Deli 352-753-3510 and, something called Villagesfood.com 352-307-4424 which will pick up your order at a number of restaurants and bring it to you; not really a caterer. I took a class at the Lifelong learning college. It was called "A touch of elegance", taught by a former white house chef. I know that he does private catering. I don't want to list his name in the thread. I'm sure you can get it from the course catalog.

I just read that you want service as well as food but if you want to host a nice casual dinner for a larger group Sam's is the answer. They have tubs of salads and large frozen cassaroles and absolutely yummy freshly baked large cakes and frozen eclairs etc.

Someone mentioned that if youy have a party at a rec center , it must be
catered by La Hacienda (??? Hmmm conflict of interest there). Anyway, that is incorrect. If you have a catered event at a REGIONAL rec center then that is true. But if you have an event at a smaller center (Pimlico, Chatham, etc) then La Hacienda can keep their expensive food items. And you can have whomever you like.
