Question Is a Notary Public required when selling a vehicle?

I'm selling a vehicle and the Florida web site suggests that the Bill of Sale be notarized. Not required, but advised. Has anyone had any experience selling a vehicle in Florida? Are there any Notaries near The Village of Sanibel? Thanks in advance.

Citizens Bank will notarize anything for free.
There is a branch in Colony Plaza.

The ideal way to handle an automobile transaction is to meet at the license branch go in with your buyer and sign the title in front of the clerk where they tell you to. If you sign a title improperly you may void the title. After you sign the title and are paid in cash for the car then go outside and remove your plate from the car. Never allow a person that you are selling a car to use a license plate that is registered to you. And always be sure the the buyer of your car changes the title into their name out of yours.

There are two licenses branches in the Sumter County part of The Villages.

I spent 35 years in automobile sales and this is how I have and would handle this type of transaction.
