Default Hanging a tv on a block wall

I'm looking for some recommendations on some company or individual than can hang a television or mount a tv on a lanai outside block wall. Cable and power are already available. Thanks for for looking Happy holidays.

Tom of Villager AV lives in TV and has installed literally thousands of TV's, he's the best. Just do a search on this website, the button is at the time and you see literally dozens and dozens of recommendations.

I agree that Tom is a reputable source. But, anyone who mounts televisions can do it. It just takes two block wall anchors to attach the mount, and then you just set the television onto the mount. Best Buy will do it for $150. I would shop for and buy the type of mount you want before hiring someone to mount it.

I used the Hangman years ago when I first moved in. He charges $40 an hour and works very slowly. I had him here for a day and half hanging curtains on 3 windows and about 25 pictures, it was $400. He did a great job, but I think Tom at Villager AV is the best for this type work, he has all the brackets and coaxial. I used Tom for help in wiring a TV to the antenna in the attic.

Tom's last I checked, charged $250 to install a TV and provided the hardware and hid the wires, which is not easy and makes it look professional. I did it myself, I bought the bracket on Amazon for $27 for a 42" TV and $50 at Home Depot for a kit to hide the wires inside the wall. I wouldn't want to do a bigger size TV by myslef, also I had some problems when I ran into some metal studs around the top of the closet. I had to go higher than I wanted, but it came out good because the bracket was adjustable. Tom helped with the wiring and aligning my antenna in the attic, I had some bad coaxial that he discovered, he charged me $80.

I installed mine and I am not very handy. It is simple. Go to Ace Hardware and tell them you want Tapcon screws and a matching drill bit. It will take you about 20 minutes to install the bracket and cost about $10 max.

We had Tom Village AUDIO #352-388-1677. He did 2 for us & we referred him to a friend. Our friend was extremely happy with his install on the wall. Tom was neat & reasonably priced.

+1 on Tom at Villages A V! Great work and reliable. He installed a 55” TV on our Lanai for $200 including bracket a couple of months ago. Also installed an antenna in our attic hooking up every cable outlet in the new house to the feed. Works great for OTA HD broadcasts to all five TVs. We even get NBC / Channel 2 perfectly. $250 for antenna in attic. Not sure of Tom’s status now though because my sister has been trying to reach him for an antenna, but is not getting a call back.

I hung a metal sculpture by my front door when I first moved in 14 year ago--very easy with a masonry drill bit and concrete bolts. However, this summer I put up a wire shelf in my garage on a block wall and could not drill into the concrete blocks. Tried three different masonry bits and 3 different drills. I had to drill into the grout lines between the blocks. Just saying, it may not be a simple job.

Galaxy hung mine...45lb mount and 65in TV. Great job! Best Buy would probably do as well for more money and would be a few weeks later.

Paul Clarke 352-255-5211. We have had him do numerous projects around our home. I believed he charged $50 to hang the TVs plus any hardware costs. Excellent work and very professional and trustworthy local handyman.

I don't have recommendations on installers, but just a tip on method? I've installed many of these myself, both personally and work-related. And I would suggest you have the installer mount plywood (PT if exposed to the elements), into the block wall. It doesn't have be large(just big enough to hold most mounts, but small enough to hide behind the TV), and you can paint it(black or subdued)? That way, if you ever change TVs(models or sizes) and mounts, you only need to install the mount into the plywood? Just a thought.
