I agree. When we were in Ft Lauderdale we had a nice Italian Market nearby (Doris')... Gio's has limited selections but is better than nothing. Mazzaro's Italian Market in St Pete is the place to go...but it's a long drive for a loaf of bread

Aldi’s Specialty italian bread. Loaf comes in a paper bag. Take and bake. I slice it up and put pieces in a freezer bag and pull out what I need. It’s excellent. Makes terrific toast, bruschetta, and garlic Bread 🥖

We go every couple of months Freeze in brown paper bag last pretty good. Better then anything around here. Mazzaro's about a hundred miles each way. Worth the trip

I used to shop at Doris's on Pines......they were the best deli around. Their desert counter was also one of my favorites....They were a true Italian store.

Try Sammy's restaurant across from Napolinos. Haven't been there recently because we can't resist the hot bread.

Not only crusty Italian bread, but good old "hard rolls" are few and far between here! Used to love tuna on a hard roll and haven't been able to find that here in 10+ years....

I make my own italian bread, it's crusty and delicious and puts all the bread you can buy here to shame. To make the dough takes ten minutes< no kneading but you have to let it rise for about 15 hours. I got the recipe from a book called my bread by Jim Lahey, purchase it you will be very pleased.

Do miss nice crusty hard rolls. Sad that companies wrap bread in plastic bag guaranteeing a very soft and mushy crust.

Try the Italian deli in Inverness. Great crusty sub rolls. You need to call ahead and order them.
Their name and number can be found in the Thursday, restaurant, section of the daily sun.
Good homemade sausage also.
