Default Empire Today flooring

We are looking to have hardwood flooring installed. Has anyone used Empire Today? The ads look good, but wonder about quality/installment issues. Any info?

If it's the one advertised on t.v. with the 3 rooms---my neighbor had them do hers and she had to have them come back with a do-over. She still isn't happy and says she wouldn't recommend them. I'd check the BBB to see if there's any notes re: them if you still want to pursue it.

I don't know about Empire Today Flooring, but have had excellent luck with recommendations on this board. Search a little, and you will find someone others have been happy with their work. Good luck!

If it's Empire, guess who's paying for all that heavy duty television advertising.

From http://www.empiretoday.com/About-Empire-Today :

"We have no retail outlets and pass the savings on to you."

"Sales and installation are provided by qualified and experienced independent contractors."

I know it's fairly common in the flooring business for companies to use subs for doing installs. But by Empire stating that their sales force is comprised of independents and that they also have no storefronts would raise the question in my mind about what is there that really exists from a company standpoint? Are they just middlemen for making connections between the buyers and the sellers?

Personally, I'd rather deal with a local company with a storefront and local ownership on something like this. If there are any issues after (or before) the job is done, you've at least got a door to knock on!

JMHO!

I haved used Empire to put down Linoleum and carpet in four rooms and they did a great job. Also any furniture to be moved they did and put back in place. Would use them again Had one problem with the linoleum, but came back the next day and fixed the problem.

I used Rich Shewak for my flooring. His number is: 352-409-5296. He did a GREAT job!! He lives in the Villages too. Thanks, Rich!

They use independent installers. So depending on who installs your floors/carpet you may get quality work, or you may not.

We still live up north. However after hearing their adds on TV daily I said lets give them a call. With all the promotions they were running I thought I'd get my wood flooring next to nothing. Well after we got their estimate for new wood flooring in 80% of the house I changed my mind. Their estimate was over $35,000. I did go to a few of the house they did do and the people were happy with their work, again they are installed by private companies so that could change. Just to compare we went to a different floor company where the product was much better and the price was less than half . Still debating if it is wise to install wood floors just to sell the house.

I don't know about Empire but I would advise wherever you buy stay away from Armstrong Bruce engineered flooring, we had it installed approximately two years ago, it came with a twenty five year surface warranty. Guess what, we have at least twenty spots that the flooring surface has deteriorated and after Armstrong sent out an inspector it was deemed not a factory defect and thus I'm stuck with a lousy floor and no options to get it repaired except to try sanding and refinishing it myself. I guess I was supposed to protect the flooring from normal everyday like spilled liquids, or an occasion pet accident in order for it to be covered by their supposed twenty year warranty.
