Default Decorative concrete driveway coating

We are in the process of getting estimates to have our driveway coated with concrete. We don't want paint or stain, but the sprayed on colored concrete. We have estimates from Artisticrete and Custom Ram, and both seem like good choices, but we want to do our due diligence and get a few more estimates. Anyone have any experiences with other company's that use this process?

I did some research on the product you are thinking of using. It came on the market in 2002 and appears to be a great idea.
Sorry I can't contribute more... but wanted to ask you to keep us posted if/when you have it installed. I think we would all love to see a photo!

We went through this process, and had quotes from both of the companies you mentioned, but finally selected Stone Creations. Custom Ram gave us a quote. The owner is truly an artist and we loved his ideas. His driveways are so beautiful... maybe more so than the houses they lead to. Also, we wondered about the cost to maintain.

We had Stone Creations do every bit of our concrete, driveway, sidewalk, and lanai, and love it. I'll send you a pm with the address if you wish to view it.

Check with Seniors Against Crime at the police department. They will help you weed out the black listed contractors so you won't deal with these guys.

Default Florida Deck and Pool

I used Artistacrete and would use another company the next time. I really like the work done for my neighbor by Florida Pool and Deck. Their work is outstanding.

Whatever you do or whom ever you use, stay away from Roger Greenlee and Patti, they are a rip off company and are only out to take your money with shabby work and materials.

Roger Greenlee and Patti use a water based paint color, don't clean up the paint spray, don't apply clear coat on the driveways, and move on to another village area before your job is even completed, never to return. We hear they are now working the Sanibel area. If you google his name on mugshots.com you will see several arrest photos of him, most recently April 2011. I have not had any work done but my neighbors have and all have had problems.

Received several bids, but Custom Ram's artistic design and references put them in a class by themselves. They were by far the most expensive, could have put pavers in for their bid,but the driveway looks terrific. We've had several people stop by and asked who did our driveway.Carlos is a true artist, who needs to start paying me a finders fee for all the leads i've given him. It's like everything else in life"you get what you pay for."

I had a quote from Marshall Pearson of Art of Stoneworks. He did several driveways in the Village of Tamarind Grove on Odessa Circle and they are beautiful. I spoke with one of the home owners and he said everyone is very happy. I am waiting for my driveway to be a year old before I do anything, but am seriously considering Marshall. Why kind of quote did you get from Ram and what kind of references are you getting.? My driveway is 857sq. ft. and his quote was $2,775. He also said he quarantees his work for like as long as you keep it sealed. I appreciate any comments. Thanks!

Default A suggestion and a caution

Biscayne villas has approved a driveway/walkway staining process with very specific colors.

We have had a half dozen driveways done very professionally by Florida Deck.

We also have had an independent contractor, Ron Carnes (who the FL Deck employees say "used to work" for FL Deck) hand out cards in the neighborhood. He has made some claims that indicate he needs to be viewed with caution. Mr. Carnes, Decorative Concrete Patterns, (1) has 2 claims against him per Seniors Against Crime when I checked today [June 12, 2012], (2) is totally unfamiliar with what is and is not permitted to be done on Courtyard villa driveways/walkways [offered to paint a palm tree, totally forbidden by the ARC in Courtyard villas], (3) wants a substantial payment up-front, (4) is 35% higher than FL Deck is charging, and (5) was willing to stain prior to the Villa owner receiving ARC approval of their application. Loads of red flags!

I have no info on the others you named.

I recomment hands down the company Florida Deck. I have had experience with two of the companies you mention and Florida deck is far superior.
