We purchased a previously owned home a year and a half ago. The driveway, walkways, lanai and garage are painted and are in very good condition. We recently expanded the driveway and walkway areas and need the new concrete painted to match or coordinate with the existing painted area. Any recommendations on a contractor who will not require us to repaint the entire area?

IMHO, start calling the various concrete painters, tell them over the phone what you want, and the ones that can do this will respond, the ones that want to do the entire driveway, you can hang up on, and the ones that come out and then say, oh you need to do everything because we cannot match (due to fading, etc.), you can determine if it is worth the cost.
We did exactly what you want to do, but we knew the original painting, and we contacted him about the work before did the expansion. Neighbors just had a similar experience where some of the driveway paint was damaged. They ended up having to have the driveway sand blasted and repainted. They indicated the cost for the sand blasting was $2/square ft. on top of the cost to repaint.

Thank you! We do not know who did the original work. I’ve gone through all the paperwork we have on the home, and there is no info on the concrete painting. I contacted one concrete painter who will not do this kind of job. I’ll try them all!

I have just the guy for you. It's Robert's Driveways 352-397-6996. We had to wait a little bit for him to start but did excellent work at a reasonable price. He did a full driveway job for us but did a repair job for a nice lady up the street and the job looked pretty good to me. He never asked for a penny before he started. Very comfortable guy to have working at your home and said he wouldn't think of asking to use our bathroom while he was working at our house, I mentioned that worked out well with our plan of not letting him. Safety first. Be patient with him getting back to you, he's very busy.
You will want to give your newly concreted area between 30 and 60 days to cure before you paint it. |
