Default Beware of Tenaj Beauty School

Was there yesterday for a special of color touch up, hair cut and style for $29.95. Unfortunately I got a level 1 student who didn't know what she was doing. I have NEVER had a color touch up where they did not section the hair off first and then outline with color, especially the front of the head where typically gray shows up first. When getting the slight trim checked by male educator, he asked if she had already swept up the hair because it was a small trim and nothing was on the floor. She said YES, which was a lie, and then said she only took off a little - LIE #1. Then after shampoo, of course, I have this large gray spot right in front that I pointed out to the student. She lied again and said it was probably already dry and would be okay when the rest of the hair was dry - LIE #2. She told female educator she did lay color all around - LIE #3, and I spoke up and told educator she did not. I had asked the student to put color around that area because she had not done it and had more in the bowl that would end up going down the drain. She took the brush ONLY and made a couple of swipes which didn't take care of the area. So now the educator wants to do a 10-minute color on that spot BUT they don't have the same color as what was used. I spoke up about that as I didn't know what it would look like and she ripped the cape off me and told me to leave as I was not going to disrespect her students. What? Really? Telling the educator lies was not disrespecting the educator? All I did was speak the truth. I know this place is for students but I was always told they knew what they were doing before they were allowed on the floor. Obviously that was not true. I was sent home with wet, unstyled hair and had to do it myself.

Granted they aren't the best here because they are students; however, some are very good at what they do. Still, this kind of behavior should never have happened and should not be tolerated by the owners.

There is still no reason to treat ANY customer that way, regardless of what you pay. No one should be treated that shabbily!!!!

Obviously you feel frustrated; but it's probably what you can expect from a Level 1 student.

The bad treatment OP had was not from the Level 1 student, that was from the teacher/educator that told her to leave. The student was just incompetent. Second bad review I've heard about that salon.
I realize they are students but they should know how to do a color before they are allowed to work on someone with little to no supervision. That's not teaching.
