Long term rental ended at our house in Duval Village. Now we'll be able to use it ourselves !
But first, we need to come down for a month to paint interior, oversee repairs, order furniture. We've owned our house in TV for 7 years. Excellent driving records for both, 2 cars at home in Mass insured by Progressive. No other travel plans, we just need something more than a golf cart. Staying in Duval, there will be the safety of being able to check on your car any time you like. Consider renting your little-used 2nd car to us for the month? |

Sorry but cannot imagine that renting a car to someone we do not know for a month is a good idea. Insurance company might not even cover the car for this.
That is why they have car rental companies. |

I agree. Go to Enterprise and rent a car for about $1200 per month. Too much liability for a private person to assume.

So it sounds like you don’t want to drive down…..if that’s the case and there are no takers on your offer, or the rental car rates are high….you could check into having your MA cars shipped/transported to the villages for you.

Buy a cheap car and leave it behind until you make it full-time in TV.
Then sell it, Probably cheaper in long run. |

Have you heard of Turo? I have rented cars from private persons in the past. One time it was left for me at the parking structure at MCO and that is where I returned it after my use. It was a very nice VW Phaeton. Turo is kinda like AirBnB for vehicles.

Might be cheaper to just do Lyft or Uber when needed vs. a long term rental?

Take the shuttle from the airport, and rent a golf cart.

Now, if you'd like to give me a non-refundable deposit of $2000, plus a fully refundable $35,000 deposit just in case you wreck my car and I have to deal with buying a replacement this year instead of next year when I might actually be able to afford it, and $400 per day rental, you can rent my 2010 tin can on wheels for a week. If it comes back with one more scratch on the hood, you got yourself a new 2010 piece of tin on wheels, and OBB's getting something built some time after 2018. |

Attention Required! | Cloudflare You can get a 2 year old Audi Q7 for $900 ($30/day). Try to negotiate due to length of rental. Never hurts to try. There's also a 2017 Honda Accord for $18/day ($540 for the month of October). FWIW, the more stars the renter has, and the more trips, the more likely you will have a problem-free experience. Just like AirBnB.
