Default NY Yankees scouting report was very accurate

The Dodgers knew the Yankees’ fatal weakness — and brutally exposed it

poor base running stats
poor outfield execution

poor management of talent

boston bat boy

Interesting article.

The error Judge made was an anomaly, first error in over a year. Volpe is generally a good shortstop with gold glove in his possession. Cole's failure to cover first is shocking. Should have done it in his sleep.

Torres needs a complete course in playing in the field and running out ground balls.

Hopefully next spring training they will work hard to learn how to play the game, things they should have learned in the minors apparently did not sink in.

They do overly rely on home runs and not enough on manufacturing runs.

Aside from a clean sweep, that World Series turned out exactly how it should have. Those two NY fans who tried to strip the ball from Mookie should be MLB banned for life. The absolute height of unsportsmanlike conduct.. Holding a player off the ground by the wrist while your partner actively tries to strip the baseball out of the player's glove should be criminal. I'm sure his buddies back in the Boroughs will buy him beers, but it lowers the entire sport.

Those two fools should be banned for life. Totally unacceptable behavior

For those who didn't see this, the guy who tried to mug Mookie Betts, is a friend of Gronk's.

Not excusing what they did, but understandable ... sportsmanship doesn't necessarily extend to rabid fans.

It's always about execution, planning helps of course, but if you can't execute, doesn't matter for what you plan

"Moneyball" is about offensive analytics edge and exploiting that. . .

The 2024 WS was about exploiting the defensive weakness observed, and how to exploit that. .

And why the Red Sox traded Mookie Betts is beyond me. . .
He practices the same way Larry Bird practiced. .

Looking for perfection and finding excellence. . .

So your whole "take" on the series, boils down to 2 poor plays (plays that both player have executed numerous times - not forgetting Judge's incredible catch earlier). Given - not covering first base was the "straw that broke the camel's back". If the bullpen hadn"t folded (in ealier games), you would be singing a different tune. So your logic is very 20/20 hindsighted.

Agreed! I hope they get sued and banned. It was disgusting.

Maybe, arrogance of going into the series too cocky! News Media and people like Billy Crystal blew smoke up players # And probably after game 4 they celebrated too much and stayed up late!

Awesome world series and I called it as a 5 game Dodgers win!! Judge was a Dodgers fan as a kid!
