Dr. James Saxton Family Physicians of Mulberry. 352 753-1727 Former military doctor that came out of retirement from his private practice to work in The Villages 'cause he loves being a doctor. Straight talking, no nonsense, takes his time kind of guy.

I have a great internist who is NOT located in TV. He is associated with Leesburg and TV. I would prefer a doctor who goes to one of the Ocala Hospitals but won't switch because he is soooo good! He doesn't use a rotating door for his visits and doesn't make you feel like he's on a schedule. He's thorough and simplifies everything into language you can understand.
I can't thank Dr. Proud enough of LSL Urgent Care (she's no longer there) for recommending him to me based on the treatment and care he gave her mother.
My internist is located south of Leesburg near Hawthorne of Leesburg and The Plantation of Leesburg. It's a drive but well worth it.

The Sun had a article on health and listed some doctors, and their locations and where they went to school, there is a group in Belleview that looks interesting. I am going to give them a try. Their names are Aya Olejeme, MD (female, schooled in Cincinnati), JD Steed, MD (male, schooled in Wake Forest), Daniel Whinnen, MD (male, schooled Wayne State MI), Brent Stabler MD (male, schooled University AL). Hope that helps, it is the hardest thing to do, we have not taken that step yet, still go back to MI...crazy I know.

The doctors that "figureitout" mentioned are now part of The Villages network. I see Dr Stabler and found him very good as is the practice of the clinic. If you have a 9:00 am appointment, you are in the room and the Dr is there at 9:00 am. I believe the hard of The Villages network started the Bellview clinic and was recruited to start The Village group.

Dr. Martinez Cruz is an Internist (treats adults)………….
He is in private practice, located at 1400 N. US Hwy 441 in a strip of offices right behind the Villages Hospital.
Phone 352-750-6650
We LOVED this dr. He spent a lot of time with us and we never felt rushed.
Very knowledgeable and has a nice personality too, which you can't say about a lot of doctors. Online his bio says he was previously employed at Harvard Medical School and Mass Gen Hospital. This year he opened his own practice here.
I highly recommend this doctor to anyone.

My husband and I were patients of Dr. Cruz, when he was with FPG. WE stayed with Family Physicians Group and see Dr. Katherine Francis at Lake Sumter, she is a very good Dr., we highly recommend her.

My wife and I both have Carmelita Eburuche on Rolling Acres Rd across from Home Depot. We've had her for over 3 years and like her style, knowledge, and concern for her patients.

Thank you and all of you for the recommendations.
I will look into them and go from there. I just have some reservations with only going to a 'village doctor'..even with them only seeing 1250 patients a day..I still couldn't get in to see one of the doctors recently until end of December!! so this may be the 'start of something big'..as the song goes.
I'm still researching but am tentatively hooked up with my Preferred Care status with one of the villages doctors. I just feel I want to be sure I feel comfortable. Once you sign up with this healthcare..thats it until next enrollment time.

Have you decided yet..very important....its important for me to see a 'doctor'..not the NP. The Villages has hired lots of NP's..so maybe the writing is on the wall. Be careful..be wise and think of what works best for you.:)

Premier Medical Associates also has an office in Sumter on Old Mill Road. They are in that bunch of offices in the complex across from Too Jays. I see Dr. florian Gegaj and are very pleased with him. He takes his time with me, doesn't push medication....would rather you live a healthy lifestyle. He has a great bedside manner and is very kind. We really like him.

My wife and I have been going to him for 3 yrs. he is a very good dr. But his staff is just horrible. she had a problem with a medication that he prescribed, she called to talk to Dr Agbo about it. 3 weeks and 5 calls later she still has not gotten a call back from him! she spoke to the secretary, the office manager and the nurse an they all said they gave him the message, but still no call. We cannot believe he or they could be so uncaring! We would never recommend him again!
